Role Name: J2ee Developer - Application Engineer Java
Location: Hyderabad
Reports to: Team Leader
Purpose of the Role
Role is for a junior to mid-level (4-6 years of experience) J2EE developer within the Java development team of IS Toolset. The position requires a person
who has good Java development skills and who has had recent experience working with Websphere / Java.
Job Tasks
Responsibilities will include:
•Understanding IT specification, design, development, module integration tests, documentation
•Solves challenging problems and occasionally replies to client requests in standard and exceptional situations
•Prioritizes and organizes own work to deliver against deadlines and agreed objectives
•Works independently or with minimal supervision
•Proactive status information to the Team Lead
•Good inter-personal skills and be able to work in a team environment
JOB SPECIFIC/TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Reliable, hard working, able to work as a part of a team, able to follow instructions, able to meet tight deadlines, work well under pressure, able to work
extended hours when required
- Understanding business requirements and creating technical specifications from them either independently or with the help of a team lead.
- Designing and developing necessary changes together with other development resources on- and off-shore.
- Ensuring proper documentation for the work done
- Working with the team lead to estimate the effort needed to implement requirements.
- Extensive recent Java Development experience using STRUTS, JDBC, JMS, XSLT, and Design skills
•Relational database experience is required. DB2 experience is desirable.
•Some Financial Services background required.
Essential Education
Business degree e.g. Bachelor of IT, business administration/finance, mathematics or economics.
Mobility required (e.g. travel/relocation)
May be required to relocate to US for training for approximately 3 to 4 months and will then relocate back to Hyderabad.
